“Prince and Bunco (an alumnus at Champs) are two brothers that came to us from Portland, Oregon in October 2021 as a gift from Kevin Maughn who was raised in Shelley! Kevin said, ’In the summer of 1994 Kings Blue Prince was born. About one year later on May 26, 1995 "Kings Bunco Bar" was born. Their mother, Scoops Bella, descended from a famous great-grandfather who was a racehorse named "Go Man Go." Their father was "King Champagne" who lived in Blackfoot. He was a decorated cutter racer. They took our family on trips into the wildernesses of the Oregon Eagle Cap Mountains, the Wyoming Wind River Range, the Montana Bob Marshall, and various forests of southeastern Idaho. They have both been ridden on the beaches of the Oregon Coast. They have been used for Boy Scout 50-milers, and many hunting and fishing trips. They have both carried wild game and done so well. We have loved them since they were born. In their golden years, they were still healthy and still needed a job. It was my pleasure to introduce them to Larry for use at Champs Heart. We hope they will continue to serve for many more years assisting those with physical and mental challenges to feel their healing magic.’ “

“Prince lives up to his name, he is royalty here at Champs for good reason. He is our oldest, and because of his health, he has a weight limit. He is an excellent choice for anyone who is a bit nervous and wants a steady, gentle ride. His brother, Bunco, passed in 2023. Prince is loved by many who want him to have a long life!”
