During the prime of her life, Moon was an exceptional professional rodeo horse. She excelled in barrel racing and breakaway roping, where her speed, athleticism, and determination made her a standout in the arena. As an Appendix Quarter Horse, a cross between a Thoroughbred and a Quarter Horse, Moon inherited the perfect combination of speed, agility, intelligence, and cow sense, making her an outstanding athlete.

After an incredible rodeo career, Moon retired to enjoy a slower pace with trail riding. But retirement didn't last long. Moon has always been a horse who thrives with a job to do.

Today, she has discovered her most meaningful role yet as one of the cherished horses at Champ's Heart.

Moon has a remarkable ability to connect with the children, veterans, first responders, and families who visit the ranch. Her presence and willingness to serve have made her a favorite among participants. Whether she's carrying a rider, standing quietly for endless hugs, or simply offering comfort during a difficult day, Moon reminds us that purpose doesn't end with retirement. Sometimes, it simply changes.

Her greatest victories are no longer measured in seconds around a barrel pattern or successful runs in the roping pen. Today, they are measured in smiles, renewed confidence, healing hearts, and lives forever changed.

At 28 years young, Moon continues to prove that some of life's most important work begins after the spotlight fades. We are honored to have this incredible mare as part of the Champ's Heart family, where she continues to inspire hope, healing, and joy every single day.
